Depression in caregivers is prevalent, but commonly ignored. Juggling multiple responsibilities, caregivers cannot afford to experience burnout. IAOYM will offset that burden by providing volunteers and assistance for those with young children, senior citizens and those with disabilities. IAOYM will give caregivers a break they so rightfully deserve.

It is no secret that the global pandemic has strained our healthcare system. Prevention is of course, the best protection. IAOYM will distribute hygiene kits to our local communities’ most vulnerable across the greater Atlanta area.

According to Embrace Diversity, one of the major benefits of promoting multiculturalism in children is emotional support and the ability to feel confident about the world around them. The Backpack Passport Campaign strives to provide school supplies while gifting children with a variety of books, toys, and curios from around the world. As traveling has become incredibly restricted due to the pandemic, IAOYM will bring the world to them. By promoting multiculturalism to young children, they will become better prepared to engage with an increasingly connected world around them.

The YMCA has partnered with IAOYM to bring the world of travel to the youth through the Backpack Passport Campaign. Kickstarting the program are the local branches of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta.

The table has long been the place for discussion, belonging, and a source of meaningful connection. As our workload increases and our digital presence expands, our time spent at the dinner table has dramatically decreased. The purpose of the Cultural Dinner is to re-introduce such relationships with a bit of a twist. IAOYM will host a multi-cultural dinner with multi-cultural guests to discuss a variety of topics that are relevant today. This dinner will not only nourish the body and mind, but give guests a safe space to be vulnerable.

Since 2012, Georgia Gives Day has raised $13.5-million for hundreds of nonprofits across the state. In 2017, they built on the momentum by joining forces with Giving Tuesday, an international organization that’s raised over $177-million to date. Giving Tuesday is always the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, this is a great time to show gratitude for all we have by supporting the advocates that aid those in need.

IAOYM has an operation’s goal of $15,000 today to continue our much needed work within the community. Please give today to help us reach that goal.
