According to Embrace Diversity, one of the major benefits of promoting multiculturalism in children is emotional support and the ability to feel confident about the world around them. The Backpack Passport Campaign strives to provide school supplies while gifting children with a variety of books, toys, and curios from around the world. As traveling has become incredibly restricted due to the pandemic, IAOYM will bring the world to them. By promoting multiculturalism to young children, they will become better prepared to engage with an increasingly connected world around them.

The YMCA has partnered with IAOYM to bring the world of travel to the youth through the Backpack Passport Campaign. Kickstarting the program are the local branches of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta.
